Welcome to Critter Lovers at Work (CLAW)

Critter Lovers at Work (CLAW) is an all-volunteer support group that plans and produces events to raise awareness and funds for local animal rescue organizations.

CLAW’s mission is “to save and protect animals, provide care and medical treatment, advocate for their welfare, and enhance the human-animal bond”, through planning and producing special events, raising money for a variety of specific, 501c3 organizations, that assist pets and their guardians.

Founded by Jill H. Kramer in 1987, CLAW’s mission was to promote public awareness of and community support Animals, and to have fun doing it. CLAW’s first events were The Great Cat and Dog Fair, and the inaugural holiday windows at Gumps — which featured dog and cats available for adoption.

2017 marks The 20th Bark & Whine Ball — CLAW’s  largest and signature fundraising event — as well as the 30th anniversary of CLAW. All are welcome to attend with their well-behaved dogs!

You’re Going to Fall in Love With This 3-Legged Hero Dog

In 2014, German Shepherd Isky and his handler, Army Sergeant Wess Brown were patrolling in Afghanistan when they were ambushed. With bombs going off, Brown hustled to get his dog back into their vehicle. Isky’s front right leg got caught on the stairs and broke in six places. Brown too was badly injured. “I didn’t care,” he says. “I was worried about him.”

Walk the red carpet with your dog, enjoy sumptuous cuisine from McCalls Catering, luxury wines from the Boisset Collection, dancing to PanExtasy Caribbean/ reggae/ steel band, drinks, entertainment, special guests, contests, raffles and bidding on fabulous items in our Silent and Live Auctions!

This year we will raise funds to help victims of the Wine Country fires, and pay tribute to military veterans and their canine companion/heroes. Proceeds from the gala will benefit US War Dogs AssociationRocket Dog Rescue, Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch, and SaveABunny.

Dress up your pet, dress up yourself! Black tie optional.
